The facts about ski Jumps 

In this post I have posted some information, for example about differences in look between 5 categories of ski jumps and the countries that have the largest objects.
Below there is a list of countries, that have the biggest number of ski jumps.

Ski jumps has few categories. They differ by height, by size and constructon (shape). The biggest is called

- the ski flying hill - which has more than 185 metres         The second is
- the big jump - which has 110- 184 metres                           then
- the normal jump - which has 85- 109 metres                       then
- the medium jump - which has 50-84 metres                      and the last
- the small jump- which has 20-49 metres

The one of the most important competition it is The Four Hills Tournament  and it is played from 1953 in the countries like; Germany and Austria in

(Germany) Oberstdorf  on Ski Jump Schattenbergschanze  and Ga-Pa (Garmisch Partenkirchen) on Ski Jump Große Olympiaschanze


  (Austria) Innsbruck on Ski Jump Bergisel and Bischofshofen on Ski Jump Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze


Few times I was on the Ski Jump Holmenkollen and I admired beautiful landscapes for Oslo from the peak of Ski Jump. I am very impressed by these young men who are not afraid of jumping and flying, and finally landing a few hundret metres down.

Adam Małysz- Polish Ski Jumper




The best moments of Adam Małysz


Adam Małysz was the best Polish ski jumper  in the history of ski jumping and one of the best ski jumpers throughout the world. He was born on 3rd of December in 1977 in the small town called Wisła in the Southern Poland. He started jumping in 1994 and debuted this year as well. He stopped in 2011. Overall he jumped 17 years. His first coach was Jan Szturc. Małysz won 39 World Cup competitions, second place took 27 times and third 25 times. Adam first podium (second place) took in the World Cup on 18 of February in 1996 in Iron Mountain. His first won competition took place in Norway in Oslo Hollmenkollen Ski Jump on 17 of March in 1996!
The longest jump of Adam was 230.5 on 13 of February 2011 in Vikersund as well in Norway.

Four overall victory:

                                        2000/2001, 2001/2002, 2002/2003,2006/2007

Four Hills Tournament:

  1st place - 2000/2001

  3rd place - 2002/2003



In my opinion Adam Malysz is a very positive men. He was very liked by Polish fans. He is a person who likes sports and sporty life. After he finished career of Ski Jumping he started being interested in motor races. He has taken part in Paris Dakar races that now are organised in Argentina.

History


Ski jumping takes place since the mid 19 century. This discipline is known very well especially in the European countries like: in Norway, Finland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland, Poland (mentioned in the intro) and outside of the Europe, in Japan.

 This sport is played especially in the season of winter and is transmitted in television. There are also competition during the summer but it is not that very popular as in the winter. There are two types of competition :  individual and team competition. The main competition are called : FIS Ski Jumping World Cup which is every year, Olympic championship which are every four years, World Cup which are every two years like FIS Ski Flying World Championships.

I have been to the individual competition last year in Holmenkollen in Oslo and I very enjoyed this event. Hovewer it took place in Norway there were mostly Polish people.

Hello!

My name is Ula. I am 15 and I come from Warsaw, Poland. My blog is about ski jumping. It is one of my favourite sports discipline and one of the most liked extreme and winter sports in Poland. It is very exciting especially if you go see competition live. In my blog I am going to write about the best jumpers in the history of ski jumping, countries which participate in this sport, ski jumps and rules.
